We have the Avent magic trainer cups and I dont know how to clean them... did disassemble them and put it in the dishwasher and then today when i got it out it had mold in it!! Because as far as I know the plastic piece and the sippy part are all one piece and water gets stuck in there... so how are you suppose to clean them.

Actually, the plastic piece and the silicone piece are 2 parts and you remove them.

These cups are our least favs. They are a pain in the neck- 5 parts per 1 sippy cup!!! We use the few we have only for meals with the silicone part out.

I love the playtex cups and we transitioned her to those because they were easier, don't leak at all, and hold more. They are also insulated- which I really love.

Good luck!

Are you talking about the hard plastic ring and the soft plastic sippy part, if so they do come apart. If not then make sure that the sippy part is pointed up. That will make sure that no water gets left it in so that it will drain and therefore no mold will grow.

If all else fails go to store with a craft section and buy a package of pipe cleaners. They always worked not only in Avent sippy cups but also straws cups as well. The reason I used pipe cleaners is because they are long enough to get into long areas that need to be gotten into . Sometimes a cotton swab is not long enough.

I don't know the correct way...I have always washed well in soapy water and then soak in bleach water and then run through the dishwasher! Make sure you squeeze the opening when washing in soapy water! I never liked using the same ones for multiple kids either!

Are you sure you have taken it apart properly? I just used to put mine in very hot soapy water and afterwards I would pop them in the sterilizer...they were always fine.
