I dont understand the sentence. Please rewrite just like you want it but leave a blank where you want this word, dont add any other words to the sentence.

Hey there!

It sounds like you are writing about whether or not the cold war should have happened. (Forgive me if I am totally wrong.) I have had moments like that too, when I completely blank out and can't think of a word. It's especially embarrassing if that happens when you are talking and you're stuck saying "ummm... ummmmm..."

But anyway, back to your essay. I can't think of how you could sum it up with one particular word - I think you'll have to re-word your sentence. "Some people say it was for the best... others disagree." Something like that, anyway. Sometimes the English language is like a store; you go into the store knowing what you want but then they tell you they don't have it. You can have a fantastic sentence with just one word missing, and you know what definition you want the word to have and everything, but it turns out there is no such word. The best thing to do in that situation is to look for another way out. Just like in the store, when you say, "Oh well... that top's kind of cute. Maybe I'll get that instead," you can choose the option of reconstructing your sentence to make something else. And who knows? Maybe your teacher or whoever is assessing you will like it better that way!

Good luck on your essay! Hope I helped a little!

I think I know what you mean, and here are a few word ideas:

- prudence ... "the prudence of the cold war will be assessed"
(in other words the essay will assess whether or not the cold war was a wise idea)
- necessity ... "the necessity of the cold war will be assessed"
(in other words the essay will assess whether or not the cold war was necessary)
