No No No. You misunderstood the meaning of the phrase. As in actions, like if you just told me you hate me, it doesn't speak as loud as if you showed that you hated me by, say, stealing my friends, etc.
If I tell you I am a drug addict, it is not confirming.
If I come to school one day, and get arrested for having marijuana, then yes it would make it even more clear.

The word "hate" is too often used by shallow, immature persons who have yet to develop or grow on the inside. If you think they are worth the bother, this is your opportunity to help them learn something about themselves. You can be either frank or subtle about it. But it's ultimately gonna be up to them to grow or not.
But I have personally crossed that word off my vocabulary. I'm not even offended by it, because it is basically meaningless to me.
This is a good way, imho, to not allow many such words to offend you! Simply render them meaningless to your own psyche, and there you are! When you hear these words, or if they're ever directed towards you, then simply "consider the source" and never allow the words to become an ingredient, or "get into the mix" inside your being, who YOU are.
It takes time, but with practice, you soon realise how many people are just trying to hurt one another with words & are playing those mind games......
"Love" is the answer.

Umm.. Sounds like you might have anger problems. So don't punch anyone in the face. And then words might speak louder.. Or something like that.. Look just um.. Take a pill or something. I think they have a cream for that too. :P

I would just ignore them. A punch in the face would cause worse consequences. Punch the wrong person and they might spend the rest of their life getting even with you and then some.

Well, if the person says "I hate you," but acts like they love you, then we're back to "actions speak louder than words."

That phrase, 'actions speak louder than words', in my opinion only applies to certain occurrences, but you make a good point.

you forget physical pain after a while, you just remember that it hurts. But when someone hurts you emotionally than that pain will always be remembered. Years later when you think about something mean said to you it will still hurt..... if you think about getting punched years later, that dont hurt
