I recently lost 50+ pounds. I currently weigh 180 lbs and I went from a 42 DD to now a 38 DD. I thought that after losing weight my boobs would get smaller, but they haven't. I feel like they are too big and I've had back problems for about 2 yrs. My dr said to lose weight and they would get smaller as well, and that the back pain should get better. but they're still huge! Do you think that they are proportional for my size or should I get a reduction. My bf likes them this size, but I think they look too big.

Just to clarify, my boobs are not by any means sagging or deflated. lol. they are still full and large. It just sucks when shirts don't fit cuz my boobs pop out!

Give your body more time to adjust to the weight loss, DD is always going to be a guys fave but if after a time you don't get some relief from the discomfort from some upper body exercises and having the best support bra you can find then talk to your Doc again. Usually ins does not cover this and it would be quite expensive so spend the $$$ on the best bras you can find and see if that doesn't help.. I don't have dd but I do notice every time I gain weight the boobs get it first and they seem to hang onto it longer....probably because there aren't any "boob" tightening exercises.
Don't hesitate to tell your bf that he isn't the one who has to haul them things around all day and that you will be sure to leave him enough if you do have surgery

The breasts are mostly adipose tissue, i.e. fat. Knowing this makes me doubt that your question is real, because, if you've lost a lot of weight, or will continue losing weight for a while longer, the reserves of fat in your chest will inevitably diminish also. They would HAVE TO. When you are dieting and/or working out, the body does not make you lose butt, lose thighs, lose waist, and then respectfully stop at the breasts because humans have a certain emotional feeling about the appearance of breasts. No way. Any weight loss program will result in reduced cup size and deflated shape. It's just the way it is. If breasts were muscle, it might not have to happen in just this way. But they aren't, and so it does. Sorry.

You should do what makes you feel good. I would listen to the doctor in that it may take some time for your breasts to reduce in size, but if you are in pain or otherwise discomfort then why wouldnt you get a breast reduction. It does not mean that you have to have little breasts. Normally a breast reduction will drop breasts anywhere from a half cup to a cup and a half in size, so tell your boyfried not to worry about loosing his squeezers. It is a common and almost consequence free surgery, just make sure you go with a doctor who comes highly recommended.

How tall are u?
I would say that unless they are causing u significant problems then no.

I work in a operating theatre and its not the kind of operation that you want to have unless u are realy certain, depending how tall u are loss try and loose some more weight if u can.

After you do that do ur research into the op to make sure you want to put ur body through that and that u will be ok with the scaring, riskes etc etc. Its not as simple operation as people like to believe, its easier to make bigger.

I would say that a many of the breast reductions i have seen have been done on previously overwieght women. most surgens i no wont do breast reduction unless there is actual discomfort caused or it effects day to day activities

Since your bra size changed, they have gotten smaller. :) What happens to me when I loose weight is I keep the same proportions, just...get smaller. I am about the same weight and bra size as you...so I'd say we're a little bigger up top than normal, but not enormously so. Breast reduction can be expensive, painful, and breastfeeding (if kids are ever in the future) may not be possible after having reduction.

My solution is to buy some really comfy bras and love your body! =)

First in all, If I were you to talk your doctor about breast reduction. And tell them you had lost 50 Lbs already. Your doctor will tell you about breast reduction. This cost very expensive for plastic surgery than usually. You can check with your doctor.

Wait (sorry for the synonym pun) until you reach the desired weight loss before you consider the reduction. And keep us abreast of your progress!

If you have back pain a breast reduction would greatly benefit you.

I had mine done in Feb 2006 and do not regret it one bit!

Don't worry if your b/f likes them or not, this is about your back health :)
