You would think Paris' or Lohans perfume would smell like a barroom floor at closing time

"New 'Night i cant remember' by Paris now 30 proof per squirt
drive them sooo crazy they cant stay inside the yellow lines"

big bucks for each side....

the perfume manufacturers make big bucks for having that certain star as the face of their product......and the star gets big bucks plus bonus notoriety thrown into the bargain....

in most cases its a win-win situation for each party....the company gets a huge financial boost through sales associated with the star.....and the star gets bonus cash and notoriety through having their own brand of product....

although in some very rare cases, the perfume is designed by a certain star, but not without the help of 200 odd proffesionals...if we had the cash they had, we could bring out our own products left-right and center...they do very little work and are basically letting more experienced people design a fragrance they can call their own......

hope that makes sense......and sorry bout the long answer.....

yup, with all the money they have they still have the b*lls to come up with a perfume...to be very honest i dont even check these perfumes when i go to the perfume shop i stick with my standard ones Chanel, Boss, CD or YSL....i wouldnt want one as a gift either becuase for some reason i feel those perfumes wouldnt be good anyway (how in the hell am i suppose to know what a Paris Hilton or a Britney smells like, i havent met them in my life anyway)

you are sooo right!!! It`s also about the naivete` of the public!!! Do you know how many people think the celeb actually makes the perfume and wears it? It`s just more money for the celeb and the company based on the gullibility of the consumer!!

It sucks. The perfume companies can just stick some random celebrity on the perfume like they actually care about it or even wear it, and they sell more. I read an article in Seventeen that says that around 80% of girls like buying celebrity-endorsed products. Sickening.

Everything is about big bucks. They are just making up for their lack of talent, like everyone is now starting up a clothing line, even if they were just on a reality show.

Paris Hilton said she selected the scent, bottle and packaging design. Probably a multiple choice type of thing rather than her actually inputting into the original.

It is not stupid for these celebs to take money from people willing to hand it over, rather it is stupid for people to hand it over the the celebs.

I saw Mariah Carey on NBC & she said she has never worn perfume and does not like perfume but now that she has a fragrance out she wants everyone to buy it.

Not Me!!

Its just another way to cash in on their celebrity status. Honestly though, given the opportunity, wouldn't you? I mean its basically free money. You let some company create a fragrance and all you do is lend your name to it and take a few pictures.
