Yes -- it absolutely does matter.
Going to a well respected school opens doors for getting a good job and is helpful if you want to go to graduate school.

I personally believe that it does. For example if you apply for a competitive job and someone else has a degree from a university that hasa been more accredited then I am sure than the one to be hired will be the one with the better school affiliation. Yale versus any other college. Sometimes even good name school will help you get a job, that is always an advantage over other ones. Also, you have to understand that if you want a good education then most likely you will find it at an institution that has made a name for themselves. I think that ultimately learning is what you need to look out for, which one offers it, you do the math.

It depends. Some schools have strong alumni and career services departments. Some have better programs than others (so you might be able to get a job better and promoted). And there are a few schools that just having a degree from that school will get you a phone call or an interview. I do believe that schools do matter.
There is a reason why some programs are ranked higher than others....

Well of course those who go to Ivy League schools do make the connections to make their degrees work after they graduate...So for them it matters. However, not everyone can afford that, and in my opinion it doesn't matter what school you attend, an education is an education. What you do with that education is what matters. Just be sure that whichever school you attend is accredited.

It might. I was once told that an A from school X is like a C from school Y. Different schools are rated differently.

Not really--depends on what your career goals are though. In some cases, it does matter.
