Went to labor and delevery last night for back pain and was told thebaby is on a nerve.They also told me I was 40% efaced but still closed.Ok this is my fourth baby but does this mean I could labor soon..?

At 36 weeks, being closed and 40%, I'd say you have awhile to wait. Stranger things have happened, and anything is possible, but your cervix is not favorable, and you're 4 weeks early.

Doesn't sound like it since your cervix is still closed. Being 40% effaced is less than halfway there so you could be weeks away.
Your back pain might be sciatica since that nerve is often pressured during pregnancy. Try heat and massage, or if that fails, a chiropractor licensed and experienced to treat expectant mothers.

Yes, but if the baby is lying on the Sciatic Nerve your leg should be hurting or be numb. Congratulations and Good Luck!

yeah sure does...i was 25 weeks when i had my son...consider yourseld lucky that your past the delacit stage i was'nt so lucky myself....my son was 1lbs and 10 oz but hes a trooper!!!
