My laptop doesn't seem to have a Local Area Connection, so i can't connect to the internet with it. I tried "Create a new connection" but the computer tells me it should be configured already, so that doesn't help. Anyone got any ideas on how to do it?

I would open up the hardware manager on your computer and make sure that the network card is not disabled or that there is not any problems with the card.

I had this exact problem like a few days ago. I don't know if this would apply to you, but what I did was install some drivers that came with my modem, and then it showed up, and I was able to connect. Strange, huh?
