HIV - NR

HIV = test for human immunodeficiency virus (causes AIDS)
NR = non-reactive, which means negative, as in, you do NOT have HIV

GBS is group beta streptococcus, an infectious organism that they test for in late pregnancy. The pregnant mother has no symptoms, but it can infect the baby during birth and can lead to death of the infant. Not a STD, and up to 30% of women can have it at the time they deliver. Easily treated with antibiotics while in labor to prevent transmission to the baby.

If there was not a "neg" (-) or "pos" (+), after the GBS then it hasn't been tested yet.

Are you looking at test results?

GBS is for Group B Strep. They test expectant mothers for it late in pregnancy. If you have the infection they treat you with antibiotics so it is not transmitted to your baby in pregnancy.

The NR behind HIV means that you tested negative for this disease - you do not have it.
