Some kids in Mississippi wrote a parody
in December of 2005, right after Hurricane Katrina
blew the Gulf Coast away.
It was to the tune of
"Grandma got run over by a reindeer"
and you were supposed to put the name
of your city, town or community in the title. So that it read:
"_____________got blown away by Katrina".
It was written by some kids in Pascagoula, Mississippi. They raised money by selling this CD for their school band.
I bought one.
Their choral group sang the song
and used "Pascagoula" in the title,
but it works well with other cities that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina, on August 29, 2005.
Such as Waveland, Bay St. Louis, Henderson Point, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Gulfport, Orange Grove, Biloxi, d'Iberville, St. Martin, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Harrison County, Hancock County, Jackson County, Pearl River County, and a few others.
So even though it was a parody, it was still dedicated to all that lived and died in that storm.

Absolutely not. The town is so small, the popualtion is only like 700 something. If there's a song written about it, it's only as famous as the town.

No, not that I know of. I don't think they would want to make one about where I live in California. There are songs about the ghetto, though.
