Hair encourages air circulation. No hair means you stay moist longer, and various odor-causing micro-organisms have a population explosion. Nearly everybody who shaves down there will have a problem with odor, and the only long-term treatment is to let the hair grow back. Deodorant powders can help short-term, but you have to keep applying them, and they can irritate the skin, too.

Well I would have to dis-agree with the first poster for this topic. When I shave that area, it actually makes the smell go away for me. When I have a lot and I sweat it makes a bigger ordor because the sweat connects to your pubs when you sweat but if you don't have hair there it just drips off and you just clean it.

The hair keeps them warm. When you shave them, they get cold and shrink.
