1. Sade
2. Chaka Khan
3. Aretha Franklin
4. Whitney Houston (VERY few people can sing in the same key as Whitney)
5. Caron Wheeler (former lead singer of Soul2Soul, then went solo. Very underrated, if you ask me...never got her props)
6. Gladys Knight
7. Patti LaBelle
8. Diana Ross (not so much her voice itself, but the whole package makes her truly amazing)
9. Phyllis Hyman (such a tragedy that she felt she had to leave us so soon)
10. Mary J. Blige (again, not so much the actual voice, as it is the entire package)

Sorry. I guess I can't narrow it down to just one. Oh, and no particular order with these. I love them all.

Hayley Williams (lead singer of Paramore) from the USA. (at least of modern singers). She has a beautiful voice, and sounds better live than on CD. If you don't believe me, check out the link below.

I'm positive that there are better singers out there, but she is only 18 (yes, 18) and is by far one of the most talented singers her age and of current music.

Enjoy :)

Natasha Bedingfield-I like her because her voice isn't too strong, if you know what I mean. I don't like it when singers voices are too strong. I also like Kelly Clarkson a lot, but sometimes her voice is too "extra"

for me the best female singer is Whitney Huston, this is because of the type of music she sings, her hits like i will always love you and your love is my love are sooooooooo perfect. but Celine Dion is also good. i love them both.
