Watcher in the Woods. It's pretty good, a little bit corny, but definitely appropriate for youngsters.

Disney Channel and Nickelodeon both have "scary" movies on all the time around 8 or 9 o'clock. Just look at your TV guide or, if you have TiVo or something, record the movies. I listed my favorites below, there are more but I can't remember their names off the top of my head.

Disney Channel:
Twitches
Twitches Too

Nickelodeon:
The Curse of PCA

Other:
Night at the Museum (this is really good, I have watched it four times!)

The Harry Potter series is following the generation that first saw them. As the generation has grown up from the happy magical world sort of movies the majority of the series fans have grown to fancy the darker appeal. Not to mention a new director (Yates) has been brought in who from what I understand brought a large dark ora to it. In short, I do not recommend it for younger audiences.

Probably Return of the Living Dead I & II. They are not as bad as they sound...there is pretty good amount of comedy in these. My kids love 'em.
