Thanks everyone.

Thats what I suspected, but its worth a shot eh?

In my essay, I've illustrated a struggle to come to terms with mental illness/learning disabilities. I chalked the grades up to the turbulence of learning to cope, and explained that I'm a new person (having matured enough to finally accept treatment). My guidance counseler and all my teachers say they're stunned by the transformation and have promised glowing recommendations.

I also mentioned my great grandfather and grandfather in a couple narratives/interest responses (as my inspirations/idols)

So maybe I'll have a sliver of a glimmering chance....

Otherwise its:
University of Maryland or Unversity of Pittsburgh (both perfectly fine schools too)

Wish me luck!

Your GPA is on the low side. You're smart if you did very well with all those SAT tests on your own, but you really need to increase your GPA! Cornell may be a little doubtful of your academic ability. I'm a Cornell student and I can tell you the school admissions is shifting more focus to GPA and less focus on the SAT tests etc.

Your GPA is a little low for the Ivy League -- but the rest of your qualifications look solid. It is unlikely you will get in -- but you have a chance. Make sure you have a great admissions essay.

Also -- make sure you have some good backup schools. WHile I think Cornell is unlikely, you will get into some good schools.

I agree. Nice overall, but the GPA is a bit low. You may well get in but you should certainly consider other schools.. your application list should include reaches on the one end, as well as "safeties" on the other.

No. There's a small chance you'll get in, your GPA is weak, great SAT score but weak GPA. Shows your intelligent but lazy
