the dow which is an index Mthat tracks stocks on the NYSE and Nasdaq, stops trading at 4 because both NYSE and Nasdaq stops trading at 4 P.M. EST

i hope it goes down below 5000 that would be way cool no body working except for the incumbents that you fools keep re-electing because the understand Your pain. if the politician was in 1 term did nothing why do you people re-elect them. maybe if the stock market drops the lobbyist will no longer be able to buy them a politician. I believe that a politician does not need a paycheck they make enough cash under the table from the lobbyists and other special interest groups.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) is not a STOCK EXCHANGE.

This means you cannot trade stocks in the DJIA and it cannot be closed.

The DJIA is an INDEX.
