Show the proper respect: Jesus and God are always capitalized. Next, perhaps you should post this question in the religious section rather than the mythology section.
What does protect you from demons is living up to your Baptismal promises. That includes believing in God. Of course one who is on the good side is a preferred target of demonic activity but his Faith must be his strength. Sometimes knowing your own weaknesses is your greatest strength. Lastly, believing in neither is: Indifference. Did you know that nowadays indifference is what causes most people to forfeit their Salvation?
Best.
H
By the way, Jennifer W, is this something you know for fact, or did you read this in Chick Comics or some other rabidly anti-Catholic propaganda mill? Baptism is what protects most from demonic possession, that and living up to your Baptismal promises once you reach the age of accountability. This is one of the reasons the Catholic Church insists on infant Baptism.
Best,
H

demons have no need to torment the non religious. Think about it. Satan is only trying to get minions to battle against god with him so why would he do anything to anyone who doesnt follow god? According to god, only those that honour him get through the gates of heaven, so then that makes everyone else automatically going to hell. Kinda stupid if you were a good person in life if you ask me. But yes, only christians have to fear satans wrath. Since i believe in neither im not worried in the least. I can look up sources to back this up cos its not just something i made up but i gotta get going so ill leave it up to you to study

If you know Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have been given the authority to use the name of Jesus Christ and take authority over him and no you don't have to fear demons, plead the blood of Jesus over your life in faith, and they will flee!! Mark 16:15-20. Zeal

No, as a matter of fact it is well known that it is mostly the Catholic faith that becomes possessed by demons and an awsome coincidence that Catholic priests are called to perform the exorcism. ;-)

I don't know, but I believe that according to Catholic doctrine one of the best ways to remain safe is to say prayers. I believe that most other denominations believe that faith will keep you safe... If you don't believe in them it wouldn't matter... though i suspect if they are real they don't care that you believe in them.

Yes, in much the same way that hanging garlic around your neck keeps you safe from vampires.
