We have about a million lady bugs that are around our house. Several have found thier way into the house. What are some things I can do to get rid of them?

They are driving me crazy. I cant even go out of my house without them flying all over my family and I. This is just crazy.

Ok so my husband just said that they were not lady bugs. They are those mixed ones I think you call em Asian Beetles.

Lady bugs are my favorite bugs. I love the way they look with their red coat and black polka dot. They are in fact very useful, they eat pests in the yard. If they don't look like what I described above then Mr. Wolf recommands to set your weapon on kill.
pest control is your best bet.

Asian ladybugs are still ladybugs, but not our native species... we love the little red ones with black spots... the Asians were imported to help the farmers with an aphid problem on their crops.... when the crops are harvested, the Asian bugs don't have anything to eat, so they go looking in your garden!... and they are looking for a place to hibernate for winter now, too!.... could be your attic if there's a nice little opening up there somewhere... better hope not..... these bugs leave a stain if you squish them, stink if you do, too, and will BITE!!!... they're not the sweet little native bug that we love so well....

if they get into the house, the best way to be rid of them is with a vacuum .. one that has a nice long hose and wand... and a bag.... suck 'em up and toss the bag if you'd like (I don't think you'll be 'endangering' them.. they breed like bunnies!!) or if you're a nice person, use a clean vac bag and then remove it and take it to a nice open field far, far from homes and release the bugs.......

now, if a group of the little red ones look to live with you for winter, try really hard to put up with them this year if they do get inside.... they'll leave in spring and then you can seal up the holes they used.... these Asians are crowding out our native ladies and the little red ladies need all the help they can get..... if you're interested and you get a load of them around you, you can look up on the web about how to keep them safe till spring.... in your fridge!!... *smile*........

Lady bugs are one of the good insects. They help with mites on plants. But , catch one and take it to your local nursery. Maybe it's not a nice ladybug, but a bug troll you can spray for. One year we had worms everywhere in trees and on the ground. And I do mean everywhere. Trying to get to my car, I 'd have worms in my hair. I found they appear every seven years if the conditions are right. This may be the case with your bugs. So, check it out. I know it's so frustrrating.

It is that time of year they are looking for a dry place to spend the winter. Other than mass annihilation your only solution is to build a place for them to overwinter. The natural places I have seen them is piles of brush and fallen trees where they can escape the wind and rain/snow(they get attacked by mildew if wet). You may be able to find something on the Internet, When they gather it is called aggregate.

Check out GardensAlive.com for natural, non-toxic ways to combat pests. They have something specifically for Japanese Beetles.
