As early as Monday; unless it was an out of State Check, which will give you a couple more days.

Most probably it will be withdrawn, as early as Monday. Banks no longer are required to physically forward paper checks to another bank to obtain funds. This is now done electronically, and they do processing on the weekends. If the person to whom you wrote the check deposited it at a bank on Friday, I would waste NO time getting adequate funds into your account.

well, it all depends on when they deposit it, not when you wrote it, banks operate on business days and different banks switch over to the next business day at different times, for example my bank switches over at 3pm, others switch over around closing time, i know of some who wait till 4pm, etc. now if the person deposits the check while the bank is still on friday's business day, if they are not a new account holder, the check should clear by monday, if they are a new account holder i'd say give it till tuesday. if the person deposits it after the bank switched over then its instantly considered as if the deposit occured on monday since the bank is operating on monday's business day, so then the check should clear on tuesday, and if the person is considered a "new account" then it'll clear on wed. this is if it's a local check and not of a really huge value, and that too depends on the bank, of course, a non-local check means typically double the time unless prior arrangements were made. so basically local, not significantly large amount - 1 day "existing account", 2 days "new account".

Its not when you wrote it, its when they deposit it that counts. It will clear within a day after.
