Or near extinction. These animals deserve to be preserved for the future. Do you agree?

Definatly, it's terrible to see animals being poached to the brink of extinction. Brainless poachers should be hunted down.

Yes, I could rant on for hours about this subject. I've just spent ages trying to write a reasoned answer to this, but I can't do it without losing my rag! There are still cretins out there (far east) who think rhino horn has medicinal values, how stupid are these people? The real problem is one of worldwide education and I'm afraid that time has run out for so many species. The tiger is almost finished and there are still tw*ts who are willing to pay for a tiger skin. Why? What is wrong with these people? Sorry to be so negative, but it's a subject very close to my heart.

True, but that's why at least in NA, there are permits which regulate how many animals can be taken and use the price tag for the permit to pay for lands where wild life can flourish. In most places where hunting is well regulated it's been the most dependable resource for ensuring funds to buy land and care for it so that the animals can be there for generations to come.

Not all animals are near extinction why do you think we have a hunting season? because deer, elk, moose and any other game animal are plentiful and we need to keep their population down so they don't spread disease and we actually help, but than you have the endangered species who get poached and killed illegally those people are the ones who should be looked down on those people are the ones who you need to worry about pushing wildlife to extinction. Not hunters. Not all hunters do obey rules and regulations and even poach and they aren't considered true hunters. I Agree that we should preserved wildlife, but I also think that we should be allowed to hunt game animals only if we use them for food and the proper resource for living. My family hunts and fish and fish, but we eat what we kill and don't go over the limit. We all should try to preserve the wildlife non endangered or endangered, but hunters should be allowed to hunt and we should also be allowed to fish as long as we follow rules and regulations.

Simple! There is no logic.

I do believe that these animals should be preserved so our children may see them. I never got the chance to see a tasmanian tiger, great auk or whatever.

absolutley but considering all the logistic and economic problems in the world; it follows that some people will have to hunt animals to extinction. or those people will die. this clearly is a big problem.

Perhaps they will eat you otherwise!
Fear of fierce dragons (dinosaurs) doubtless contributed to their extinction at the hands of man.
There are many tales of fierce creatures being slain by heroes. E.g St George, Beowolf, etc.

Some people think that dinosaurs died out millions of years ago but this is clearly not the case. There are many depictions of dinosaurs - for example the Romans made mosaics of them.
www.genesispark.org/genpark/ancient/ancient.htm
And dinosaur bones have been found with red blood cells in - clearly not very old.

Of course we all agree.
But there are always idiots out there.
The spoiled ones who get a kick out of a: killing something and b: doing something they know they shouldn't.
