In Washington, if the parent of a child is also a minor? Would the underage parent be legally responsible or the grandparents)? Links to RCW would be greatly appreciated.

Note: The underage parent signed the consent form.

the parent is ultimately responsible, regardless of age. The parent must give permission for their child to be treated, and by default agrees to pay the bill.

A non-emancipated minor can not enter into a binding contract. I am not sure if the grand parents can be made liable but the minor can not.

If someone sells a car to a minor and the minor wrecks it a week later, the minor can request their money back or stop paying for the car as the purchase was not a legal binding contract.

In most cases, once a person becomes a parent, they are no longer viewed as a minor-- therefore they would be legally responsible for the medical bill. However most hospitals have charity for people who really cannot pay the bill.
