Why do some act as if big government is the only solution yet the smart realize it's a clear threat?

Big govt can trample a mans rights easier than a king or queen can. I don't believe that we need to have a three letter agency for every damn thing that people need. Do you really believe that if we had national healthcare it would be a quality service.........it won't be, you will stand in line and take a number just like they do at the DMV, then you will see a DR. that has way too much education to be making the base govt rate of pay for doctors in the national healthcare system and who has been seeing people non-stop for 6 hours without a break and he does not give a damn about you or your condition. It will be a horrible experience to which you will pay a huge amount out of your salary for...........but the bottom line is........you will have lost your freedom to choose your own healthcare plan.

Government does not create prosperity, our govt is still around because our economy is strong. When our govt takes too much money out of the economy, our private sector will loose the ability to remain strong and competitive with other nations. People wont have enough money to save, and thus they will have prevented people from moving up in economical status. Your rights will be trampled if the govt is too strong. And conservatives need to make their voice heard on election day, Republicans who expand govt should be thrown out of office.

Big Government is great isn't it? Let's list some wonderful achievements:

Welfare. Introduced to minimize poverty in this country and provide a safety net. Worked out great. Poverty has only increased since welfare was introduced. And entire generations of families are stuck in poverty and government cheese.

Social Security. Introduced as a government managed retirement program. That worked out well. I'm paying into it. I'm not going to anything out of it. Millions of other Americans are in the same boat.

Someone above mentioned education. That's worked out well. Test grades keep declining, condom handouts keep increasing. When a school has more fatal shootings than graduates, that's a wonderful accomplishment only achievable by the greatest societies of all time. Yeah.

And libs want to turn over their (and everyone else's) health care to this? Right....

In truth its about power. The more you rely on the government, the less likely you are to vote for someone who wants to reduce the size of government.

Big goverment has been around for decades and we're still walking free. I do as much for myself so I don't have to depend on the government any more than I have to.

It would be foolhardy to cut our federal government to shreds.

For example - the US Department of Education provides the standards and enforcement of the education of the handicapped and learning disabled. If those were left to communities to decide - many would not.
How is that better? And that is the one that is most talked about as "useless".
