I'm talking about the kind of bags with the zippers. I hate to throw them away, but I don't want them just lying around either. I know I could put them in the recycle bin, but they just seem like they would be really good...for something.

I've used a couple to make home-made first aid kits for the car. No sense spending a ton of money on a kit when I can just throw the basics into the plastic bag and leave it in the glove box or under the front seat.

I've stored other blankets in them.
My daughters keep their doll clothes in one.
My mom keeps her sewing supplies in them.

You can use them to store just about anything.

I am right now staring at four of those bags filled with blankets or pillows!
They also work for using to pack away seasonal clothes, or even towels that need to be stored.
The best thing to do if you want to store them is to add in to keep them fresh, and keep away moths.
We use a mix of Lavendar, cedar chips, rose petals. these were put in ziploc bags and put into the bags.
Not only are they kept safe, but they smell wonderful when you get them back out.

I put the other season's bedding in there--in summer it holds the winter, and in winter it holds the summer.

I use the smaller ones for traveling. Invariably my shampoo opens up or something, and it gets everywhere. Not in a zipper bag. Anything that needs to be kept together...shoes makeup, whatever.

I use them to store off season stuff. Like patio table covers in winter, blankets in summer, sheets for the spare bed that isn't used much. It keeps the dust off and they smell fresh next time they are needed.

They are great for sorting groups of small items in a storage closet or drawer. Try Craft items, games and game pieces, also first aid supplies to make it a quick grab. My kids (old enough not to suffocate) use them to keep small stuff together in the closet and toy box. My daughter - barbie shoes and clothes, play makeup, etc. My son - hot wheel cars, rock collection.

I've used them to put any kind of soft goods in at garage sales or when I give something to Goodwill.

I never store fabrics in them because they can cause mold and mildew. Fabrics need to breathe.

I keep good quality shop bags and paper bags in them in the meantime.

I use a couple to store papers and note books. Others I keep for perhaps storing blankets that I'm not using, if they're big enough.
