I AM a Veteran (and Military Retiree), my siblings are STILL Serving (and have had multiple combat tours in the current War on Terrorism), I am the CHILD of a WWII Paraplegic Veteran (my father .. 1st Generation American) ...
We, those of us who VOLUNTEER to do what others will NOT .. believe in the Constitution of the United States, and will support that Constitution no matter where around the world our duties take us. We do it 24/7 -- and we see the good, the bad and the downright cruel and ugly sides of human life ... both its triumphs (and caring nature) and the failures (those who willingly take the lives of others).
THAT is why we serve ... so that others can enjoy the blessings that this fine country's Constitution guarantees for us, its citizens.

AH, November 11th. Two reasons, it's a day to honor our veterans of war or peace time. Plus it's my birthday....
