Pretty soon, you would realize that there is no such direction as "up" where space is concerned. Pick a direction. Sooner or later, you will come close to another star. But let's not talk about this like it will happen any time soon. The Voyager and Pioneer probes have left the solar system and wouldn't be going as far as the nearest star for over something like 20,000 years. But keep in mind, they aren't headed toward the nearest star. They probably won't come close to another star system for millions or even billions of years.
As for the Universe, it is meaningless to think about what you would find at the edge. There is no edge, and if there was, it could never be reached because the light of the Universe is expanding at the speed of light. It's like trying to walk farther north than the north pole.

Every thing is moving. Straight up is only for a short time. In the true sense u would go up and fall back down , this would not get u in orbit. U would not get the 1000 mph from the rotation of the earth.

No reference points as to which direction travel … hmmm.. Going forever, means to me that maybe just maybe you’ll end up back at home, in time to see the sox win the world series. If your talking about spaced and time being curved, that is .

We will end up in space.
Pick a random position in the sky. Look at it with the highest powered telescope. What are you going to see? Space. You are not likely at all to hit any massive object. It is that empty.

KBW3 is correct. Once you're in outer space, there is no up or down. No east nor west, or south or north. You would'nt end up any-where...Unless you hit something, you would travel until you died of old age...And your ship would go and and on forever...

Through different solar systems, through gas and dust, out into deep space, then into and through another galaxy, over and over again, until you reach the edge of the universe, and then travel into blackness forever.
