Gin with a zest of lime sound great! However, I wouldn't call that I martini. The classic martini is just vodka, dry vermouth and an olive....I used to be a PROFESSIONAL bartender! hehe...

Gin and Vodka are almost the same. Gin has a more distictive taste to it, while good vodka should have no taste at all. I'd go with the vodka though.

All the Martinis I've made were with vodka, so I'd make it with some taste full vodka not the cheap stuff.

Gin makes me puke. Too Harsh. I drink Vodka Martini's.
*yummy* lol â¥
< oh yes, AND i prefer Vermouth in mine!. Even though that's what makes the drink, most bartenders just swish it in the glass then dump it out. No no, i want vermouth in my Martini, ... if i want a shot of Vodka I'll ask for it, you know?>
LOL
