The balance of trade, one of the causes of many wars, since directly related to power and money. Britain had to import opium to China to maintain that balance; and as we all know, most countries are perfectly willing to do harmful and cruel things to insure their own success.

They don't call the British flag the "Butcher's Apron" for no reason.
