I don't know who created it... but I was reading an article a week or two ago, talking about how now a days, it's not a 7 year itch anymore, it's a 3 year itch... I think it was in Cosmo or some magazine like that...

There's an itch for sure. It's a turning point not only in your marriage but usually in your life as well. Doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it's a man or woman. Can be both.

I always thought it was the 113 year, at least in my case it was. An itch is a symptom something is wrong in your relationship, If two people don't sit down and try to get to what it is, nothing changes, eventually someone gets itchy, feels that he or she isn't getting what they need from that person. That is when the itch begins, and sadly when its too late.

There is a very popular theory that everything runs in cycles of seven years. Droughts, hair regrowth, everything. A lot of people believe this. Especially the generation before the baby boomers. So, the term is a spin off of that theory. Then came the movie....
