when i saw the spider it had a small nest (not a web) he looked allmost transparent or even lite gray. i went to get something to kill it with but now he is missing. ive had spiders in my shower before and it really freaks me out. i am so afraid that he is waiting for me to be naked and helpless to attack or something. i know it sounds stupid but how long should i wait to shower in that bathroom? when will i know he is dead from old age? its MY house NOT his!

Just be brave and go for it. It can't hurt you. Just keep that in your mind.

And next time dont get a shoe, use something already in the bathroom. I always attack flies with bathroom disinfectant but this wors less well with spiders. You can squash spiders with anything.

I TOTALLY know the feeling!! Hate spiders!!
This not be the most wise info, but seriously, if I were you, I'd call an exterminator. Especially because you saw a nest- remember at the end of Charlotte's Web how Charlotte made a nest?? Nests could mean babies.
If you have a friend or relative who's willing to come over and do a thorough search and to get rid of the nest, that's probably your best option.
If you're doing the sit n' wait strategy, don't shower in there until you're absolutely comfortable to. If you close the door (assuming he can't crawl out some other way), he should die within a few days of starvation.

YOUR house! NOT his!!

There is nothing more desirable to a spider than a naked lady. The small nest you saw with the spider was an egg sac. They spin a sac to lay there eggs in then carry it around with them. So you don't need to worry about her(with an egg sac it must be a her) dieing of old age since the next generations is available. Rather than making a mess with a shoe, or polluting the air with sprays, I use a vacuum to get all spiders and their webs, especially those with egg sacs. Do not worry they do not survive the suction

Spiders will not fly at you or bite you if you are in the uk. He ran away because he is scared of you. They eat all the other bugs and flies in the house and are clean. If you can put him in a big glass with a piece of card over the end and let him outside the door- He won't hurt you. He has no intention of hurting you- think of him as a little cartoon character and give him a name- Sid the spider is good.

The spider is waiting behind the toilet for you to be vulnerable, and then, like a viper, he will attack!!

Don't worry about it, spiders don't like humans either. A spider will live about a year, so just keep a can of bug spray in that bathroom if it freaks you out that much.

Or call me, I'll watch out for you while you shower. haha

I HATE spiders, but you have to realise that this spider has probably been living in your bathroom for quite a while. I find the best thing to do is give him a name. I called my bathroom spider Fred, it makes them less scary.
Seriously, try it. The spider is much more scared of you.

You need to get over this phobia. Spiders kill other insects in your home. I'm 100% sure you have insects of some sort in your home at all times. Don't worry about it.

Not to spook you, but you'll need a shower before that spider dies of old age.

Hi, I would buy a can of Raid or other pest killer and spray the walls, especially the corners. I personally like spiders since they get all the other bugs so I don't mind if I see one, but those sprays last long and keep killing for a while....

usually a month, but since you saw a spider nest, then we can never be sure how many spiders were hatched or are living in your bathroom or your rooms.. better have some pest exterminator if you're really afraid of them.

It's just a spider...jeez. Haha. I've been bit by a brown recluse and even I'm not as scared as you are! Haha. Don't let a little spider make you a prisoner in your own home.
