Yes, and the question bleeds over into various different aspects of relationships... Have you ever been completely trustworthy and not been trusted? i.e. It's the other persons problem, but it's taking up your time and emotions while they're going through their own baggage trying to sort things out, or jump to conclusions based on past experiences. It really is a pain in the azz.
Because of your nature and seeking to please, will he ever be thankful enough?
There IS a time to cut your losses... but you have to decide if it's a principle issue, or are you willing to settle for what is on the table right now. Tough call.

Yes. But then you have to ask yourself..why do you want to try to please someone who is not as giving as you are? All relationships should be give and take. Some relationships are better at balancing this then others. If it is not so then you really need to rethink why you would want to have a relationship with someone whether it be physical or friendship, with someone who is selfish and is unwanting of your all.

as you tried that's all that matters, let up on your ways for
awhile and the person will relize this and maybe relize
them self's.

Yes, and this means it is their own problem and you cannot help them, they must help themselves, or they are the wrong person for you (if in context to a relationship).

Yes, many times.

That's one of many reasons I've simply given up on love, sex, and relationships.
