I think Mr. Bean's Holiday would be what I would choose. Funny. Approriate for most ages. No sex or violence. I think it would be a good date movie because you would both enjoy the movie AND your parents would also not object to your watching it. (If the parents also approve of the movie, there is a better chance they will allow you to go on a second date).
The Game Plan would be my back-up movie in case he doesn't want to see Mr. Bean.
For a date movie for a 14 year old, I would avoid:
Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Mr. Woodcock
The Bourne Ultimatum
I haven't heard of:
The Comebacks
Across the Universe
In the Shadow of the Moon

I don't know to what the numbers at the left of each movie title refer, but you probably want to see a flick you can both enjoy.
Comedy is universal, so I'd go with #29 (for the record, although I like Rowan Atkinson, I can't stand his "Mr Bean" character!)
Sports films are for guys.
"Elizabeth..." is too heavy for teens.
"...Shadow..." might be a little too "old school" for you.
The rest have not received good reviews, overall (and, those that have received good reviews are lying!). ; )

Boys don't run too deeply, so let's skip Elizabeth, right off, unless he's very exceptional. I heard, but don't know, that Tyler's new movie wasn't so hot. I love his other stuff. I think any guy would like the Bourne series and Mr. Bean, imho, is hilarious. Have fun.

Depends on what interests you two have. Dan in Real Life looks good (the new one with Steve Carell) but it might be too schmoozy for a guy. A nice middle ground might be Across the Universe. It's a Beatles musical set during Vietnam, and looks like it has enough story and romance and action to keep both of you entertained. :)

If you're into The Beatles, go see Across the Universe. Otherwise, I'd recommend Dan in Real Life.
