Easy. Dinner time. Put the plate in front of him. Just before placing a serving of food on his plate, lick your finger and rub an imaginary spot off the middle of his plate, then immediately put the food down on the plate. Then smile and serve yourself. If he is stupid enough to be revolted, remind him that he does this all the time, to others in different ways and that he needs to stop. Point will be made.

Every time he does it love you need to put a cloth and antibacterial spry bottle in his hand! MAKE HIM CLEAN IT PROPERLY! We Lady's all know how much guys actually hate cleaning so it'll be kinda like diversion psychology, he wants to clean, you make him clean, he never cleans again, not even with his supper man spittle. if that fails try keeping the spray with you at all times and as soon as you see him lick his finger let the finger have it before it gets anywhere near the smudge. But on a serious note, there is probably not way to stop him do-in it, you'll just have to abide it. All men have these annoying, disgusting, nasty little habits that we all have to grin and bare, its part of the birds and the bees. Try my ideas though, just for your own entertainment if nothing else. Lol M x

Relax, it is easy . first make a record how many times he does this per day and keep just recording for a week then you have three options: Ignore this behavior as could as possible. And I mean absolute ignoring without makine any notice even flipping your lids.Or whenever he licks and wipes give atissue or cloth etc.... If these ways do not work you have to consult psychiatrist.

I gurantee we've just about all done that a time or 10! He should wash his hands (or finger) after he does the quick clean, to prevent getting sick. My son used a sharpy on my brand new table yesterday, no joke, and I did the same thing.. I wouldn't brag to anyone I know that I did it , but I did. I washed my hands right after though, and thats the truth

I would KILL for a husband who did housework in any shape or form!!! Could I borrow him? Kidding! I hear you about 'things that husbands do that are annoying' but honestly, it could be worse. Would you rather have your husband do a spit shine or would you rather have a husband like mine who will leave trash, beverage bottles, bowls, cups, wrappers, shoes, dirty clothes... all around the house, leave the seat up, forget the wet clothes in the washer for days, spill things CONSTANTLY, break and rip things, forget to pick things up at the store... the list goes on and on. You will be OK, I promise.

The only way your husband will change this behavior is only if he wants to change it. Unfortunately, when a person reaches adulthood it's very hard for the to change a bad habit that has been there for years, unless they really want to change and do whatever it takes to stop doing that kind of behavior. Maybe he likes to see your reaction when he does that. Maybe he likes hearing your: "Ew, gross", "That's nasty", "Don't do that", because for him is like a game and everytime you say to him this kind of things is like saying: "You won!", because that is his proof that he can control you.
So, maybe you can have better results if instead of remarking him that you really hate that behavior of his, you act normal, as if nothing happened. When games become boring, nobody wants to play them again, right?

Next time you see him doing that spray him with some lysol .Husbands can do those nasty things but just remember why you married him and care for him. My husband of 10 years will cut his fingernails & toenails and flings them behind the sofa. It doesn't matter how old they are they are still gross.

WHY are spenting energy correcting something that is less than WRONG? -WHY are you "nagging" him about something so utterly inconsequential?
I would suggest that you find something more substantial to do with your off time...like:
STOP BEING SUCH A NAG!
Grace (a happily married woman of MANY more years who looks for the BEST in her husband and DWELLS on THAT!)

If he does this EVERY SINGLE TIME he sees a spot, he definetly could have OCD. Check with his doctor to get some serious medical treatment before it gets worse.

Men don't like to be nagged. If he is anything like my boyfriend, he will keep doing something you don't like just to get a reaction out of you. Have you asked him nicely (saying please etc) explaining why you dont like it? I would just say try to ignore it...is it REALLY that big of a deal?
