Only water it when it starts to wilt and not before....It does need light so don't put it in too dark a spot. Don't sit it in water and it should be fine. Perhaps a little food may rejuvenate it. Make sure the soil is a good draining one and that the pot is a good size and the plant is not pot bound. I hope it recuperates.....sometimes we kill our plants with too much attention or too little ...we have to find a happy medium...when you find it I'm sure it will do very well.

It actually depends on where your peace lily was grown...if it was purchased from a discount store it was field grown and will be hard to keep alive since they aren't concerned about the life of the plant, only the sale...if it was purchased at a reputable floral shop or greenhouse, it is more likely to survive because their plants are acclimated to household conditions because they keep them in similar conditions to your home...if it had blooms on it when you got it, it was already overgrown and was hard to keep watered because peace lilies don't send up flower spikes until they are crowded in the pot...They need repotting, but if you dorepot only go up to a little bit bigger pot or you won't see blooms again untilit fills up the new pot....they are one of the few plants that don't require any direct sunlight...they thrive in a dark corner of your room so keep them away from bright sunshiny windows, it will burn the leaves....when the leaves wilt, water until the water runs thru and then pour the rest out, do not let it stand in water.....good luck!

You can water as much as you like, but the bottom of the pot cannot sit in water. Don't water from the bottom, water from the top, and as soon as it "pees" stop. Dump anything left in the saucer.
Peace lilies are really picky about their light. I had to try a couple of different spots in the house until she became happy. It turned out to be in my bathroom. We have three tall windows there, and the morning sun is blinding. That's my favorite room, too.

Lift the pot. Light = dry, aerate and water (poke holes in soil)
Heavy = wet, allow to dry out
They don't like wet feet, don't allow it to sit in water, it will rot. Once root rot begins, you're out of luck.
They'll tolerate low light, not direct big sun.

It needs less and less water as the daylight lessens. Give it a dose of miracle gro, and don't water until the soil is completely dry to touch.

They like lots of water and not too much light. I have to water mine throroughly 1-2x a week or else it droops down and wilts. They don't like to get dry. All my other plants only get watered every 10 days or so, and my Jade plant 1x a month.

you have to put it in the sun because if it does not get sunlight how is it going survive and you have to water it everyday in the morning .because a plant needs sunlight and water to survive and grow.one day when i looking at my flowers i notice something from it was dead.i have had a idea i thought of putting it in the sunlight and watering it everyday then i started to do that it was growing if you do it the same as i did you could get it growing.
