I've stayed at about a dozen different hotels in Vegas in my years of traveling there. New York New York is one of my favorites. In Las Vegas, a room is a room is a room. (Unless you've got the deep pockets for the fantasy suites.) What makes a hotel for me is what's there. I like the casino. The dealers and croupiers are friendly and make you feel at ease. There's good bars there - there's a great band at the Big Apple Bar. Lots of choices to eat. Easy access to the parking garage (I rent a car) and to other properties. Decent spa too. If you can get a discount rate, even better!

Personally, I like Paris better. I think the rooms were nicer there. New York New York is fine, but I wasn’t impressed with the rooms for the price they charge you. On the plus side you are centrally located and can walk to almost all the casinos, the ones you can’t walk to you can take the monorail and they even have a shuttle to the Rio at close by hotels. Also, New York New York has great table games and slot machines and good restaurants that aren’t too expensive.
If you don’t already have a good rate try i4vegas.com, they have very competitive rates and I have never had a problem with the hotels honoring the rooms or the price.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Oh my gosh, I love NEW YORK NEW YORK, it's so cool. And they totally have internet specials right now. With a price like that, you can go two or three times a month. And when you're there, go to Coyote Ugly, I think you'll like it. Here you can get a great special http://www.las-vegas.cc . But if you're looking for something a little more upscale, try the BellagioHotelCasino.com . But I think you'll be really happy at NEW YORK NEW YORK. Oh and don't forget to ride the The Roller Coaster, you'll drop something like 180 feet, or that's how it felt.

WIN BIG!!!!

I think you've made a good choice to stay at New York New York, they have reasonable prices and they have all that you need to have a good time... as far as gambling they offer:
Blackjack
Craps
Roulette
Mini Baccarat
Caribbean Stud Poker
Let it Ride Big Six
Three Card Poker
WPT Poker Table
Texas Hold'em Bonus
Crazy 4 Poker

Entertainment, they have:
Zumanity - It's Vegas, be a little provocative. ZUMANITY, The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil, is a seductive twist on reality, making the provocative playful and the forbidden electrifying! Leave all inhibitions at the door and let loose as this adult-themed production takes you on a sexy thrill ride full of sensational acrobatics and naughty fun. Part burlesque and part cabaret, ZUMANITY is one full night you'll never forget! Now that's a Las Vegas show!

Roller Coaster - Let the good times roll. The Roller Coaster will lift you up 203 feet, drop you down 144 feet and leave your pulse trying to catch up to 67 mph. Simulating a jet fighter's barrel roll, you'll turn 180 degrees, hang 86 feet in the air, take the famous "heartline" twist and dive, and get your negative g's on! Ah, what a rush.

Coyote Ugly - Passion is poured with Southern style and sensual smiles at Coyote Ugly where hot female bartenders will entertain you with their cool artistic pouring techniques. See the live version of the sultry saloon that starred in its own movie!

I went to Las Vegas in Aug and I stayed at MGM....I loved it but it was a bit far away from everything...New York New York is right across the street...Look into stay at Caesars Palace, Harrah's , Bellagio, Monte Carlo....You want to stay some where in the middle...It is so HOT during the day you real like your skin is melting....

New York New York is great if you get a good price to stay there. As far as location on the strip is concerned it is in a good location to other casinos, although getting from one casino to another should not be a problem if you follow these tips. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/get-around.html
I don't care much about the roller coaster because there are tons of other free attractions in Vegas.

I agree with travel girl, NY NY is at the end and not very close to anything, the ones she listed are centrally located. Also consider the venetian, paris, imperial palace, or planet hollywood.
