"The International Primatological Society in Hainan, China, focuses on the plight of the 25 most endangered primates, including China's Hainan gibbon, of which only 17 remain.

You could fit all the surviving members of the 25 species in a single football stadium; that's how few of them remain on Earth today,"

First of all, that tokin snub-nosed monkey is one cute little primate!

I need honest opinions. Do you care about extinct animals? Is it a waste to dedicate resources to get these species off the endangered list?

Thank you so much for the link. Interesting reading, cute picture. I realize many species have already become extinct. Do I care? Absolutely. Many years ago, man either didn't exist or didn't have the knowledge to do anything about it. That has changed years, perhaps decades ago. But have we done enough? No, politics interfere. It is never a waste to dedicate resources to get any species off the endangered list.

even though it's only natural for some animals to go extinct (it's been estimated that 99% of all species that once lived have gone extinct), i'm concerned for the rate at which extinction is occuring today; which is only made worse by our general neglect of our planet.

I wish some animals of the human species would become extinct.

I believe it is the natural order of things for species to thrive and go extinct. But if it is prudent to help them perpetuate, then by all means we should.
