is there any way you know if an ORB is real or just dust particles? And if its just dust, how do they turn into the shape of a circle ? Why are they only in one room and come in all sizes if its just dust and not real orbs? Thanks

I've included two excellent links to explain the physics and optics of "orbs". Note that these aren't skeptic websites. Rather, they are websites by paranormal enthusiasts who have had enough with the "orb madness" and want to describe the very well known science behind the appearance of "orbs" in digital flash photographs. There is nothing mysterious about "orbs" which require a supernatural explanation. It's all pretty well known optics.

First of all, who ever said these photographic artifacts are spirits? Seriously ask yourself what makes you think they are. Someone at some time in the recent past decided, without any evidence or even reason to do so, declared that the globs you see on your pictures are spirits. The person made this up out of whole cloth. There is nothing to make anyone even suspect the orbs are spirits, except the fact that they showed up in cemetery pictures (and everywhere else too).

But let's just entertain the idea that orbs are spirits (even though there is no reason to). Why is it they are invisible to the human eye but show up in pictures made by cameras designed to capture only that which is visible to the human eye? If a camera can see it then we can see it.

Orbs do not show up in pictures unless a flash is used. Conduct an experiment where you take pictures with and without the flash. You are far more likely to see orbs in the pictures taken with the flash.

I'd say get 3 different new cameras..maybe not even digital..those kind that come wrapped in foil (that way you'll be pretty sure there's no dust on the camera lense.) Then take pictures all over the house. Don't let anybody sit on the couch for a long time before you take the picture. Don't vacuum..let everything settle down. Still..I know there's dust particles in the air because when the sun shines through the window you can see dust particles. So I don't know how you could tell otherwise.

No. I think in order to know something like that, you have to investigate and study more about the paranormal, so many people have this problem around their house, or somewhere else, I wish i could be of help but i really think there's no way to tell unless you could read from a book, maybe a site, or ask someone who is familliar with paranormal / orbs ? Who might actually know something. If that's of no help, i'd say best luck to just search on google or something, you're bound to find something good. :)

Oh, and for the question of to why it's only in one room - sounds like an orb, you could have a high emf reading? Maybe you should get someone to come take a look? orbs aren't anything to get worried about. But if it's not and it's just dust, maybe it's the type of furniture you have, certain kinds of furniture tend to get dusty and cluttered sometimes!

if you take a pic and theres an Orb in it, it will emit its own light and doesn't need a flash to be seen. real orbs aren't usually white like the flash from a camera. But rather, real orbs tend to be reddish or blue, and emit their own light, not a reflection like the classic orbs you see all over.
EDIT: there are several cameras made now that have automatic dust reduction systems. Sony SLRs come to mind right off the top of my head right now.

well...there are many different factors that could be contributing to this...the first thing that i would check for if it was a picture is that if you can see light shining through t, if it looks like it is kinda shimmering then it is prob dust...thats what i heard ...but i know that if you get it on video...if the orb flows against the air current, or if it zigzags then it is an orb, but if it just flows along with the air, then chances are that its just dust...that's just what i heard, not sure if it is 100% ccorrect...good luck, and happy Halloween!!!;)

This probably doesn't answer your question, but usually I look at the picture and I can feel whether or not it's a spirit.
