Last night he said that Red Sox players went off and congratulated the Yankees before Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS and wished them luck against the Cardinals in the World Series.
Unfortunately, the Cardinals were tied up 2 games to 2 against the Astros at that time, so that part is BS.
Also, it seems completely out of character for anyone in any sport to concede beofre a game like this, especially with the footage of dejected Red Sox players after Game 3 talking about what they needed to do to try to get back in it.
Revisionist history, if you ask me.

Buck a dumb ****, he and Mcarver. At the beginning of last nights game all they kept talking about was how old "The Schill" is and that he can't pitch very good anymore. Buck even said that he thinks the Rockies will have no problem hitting Schilling.
If it hadn't been for that awful HBP call on Taveras to lead off the game, the Rockies wouldn't have even scored.
They're just like all of the other media, liberal idiots that don't know what they are talking about. By the 4th Buck and Carver were singing Schillings praises.

Joe Buck is one of the worst announcers that I have ever listened to. The only thing I hate about the playoffs is him. He has got to be the most biased, no nothing announcer of all time. It seems like in place of things that he should know he just makes things up. Of course the red sox didn't congratulate the Yankees, that would have meant that they had given up and as history shows they did nothing of the sort.
For the record I think Joe Buck is an idiot.
Edited: I am so sick of Joe Buck being biased against every single player on the red sox. In 2004 he basically called the Yankees the winners every chance he could, discounting the sox's talent. I wish FOX would fire him already (anyone want to help me start a petition?) He is a complete idiot.

Yes it does seem out of character for any athlete to concede before a game, but wasn't one of the most celebrated things about the 2004 Red Sox that they were a bit different? Would you also say it was out of character for a player to basically shrug off the fact that his team is 1 game from elimination ? Were you on the field that night, and did you hear every conversation that went on? Or are you simply looking for another reason to criticize Buck?
I agree with most people here - Buck has no business calling the World Series, or any other baseball game for that matter. But to simply discount every thing he says as a lie just because you don't think it could have happened, or that you doubt that it happened is silly.
I will now wait for all the thumbs down.

Funny you should ask that because when I heard him make that comment I thought there was no way that could be true because both the Cardinals series and the Sox series went seven games and actually the Astros were leading 3-2 at one point...my thought right after he said that was Buck just made that story up.

Because Joe Buck and most other sports announcers out
there are so Anti Boston Sports teams it is not funny. Did you
see Fox show the play from 1986 again, the one with the Ball
going through Bill Buckner's legs Now I ask you why did they
not show the A-Rod play where he slapped the Ball out of Bronson's Glove, News flash Fox the Red Sox won the world
series in 2004

Ah, it just made Joe feel better to recollect the good old days when Joe remembered his Yankee heroes were winning the World Series every year, so that's why it was a joyful moment to think back when Joe saw the Red Sox get flattened in that dreadful 2004 ALCS.
I got all teary-eyed and sentimental, myself :'(

I was shocked as hell when I heard that... That was a bunch of bullsh!t when I heard that. After I heard that, I didn't want to even hear them call the World Series game...
How will that look: The Redsox going out there and congratulating the Yankees before the game. That will make the Redsox have low confidence in them selves and they'll be saying that they will definitely be losing that game 4.
George Steinbrenner probably paid him to say that..

Manny conceded early against the Indians this year. Professional baseball players aren't at odds with each other like the fans are. I don't think this is necessarily out of the question, but it is a little strange. I have virtually no respect for anyone on that Red Sox team, but I wouldn't put it past any of them to do something like that. Joe Buck is a complete ****** as far as I'm concerned though.
