Sadly, schools have a habit of giving football players good grades just so they are not dropped from the team. This starts in high school. The guys think it is great at the time but they don't realize that they are being cheated. Even when you get in the NFL you need a good education. "Stupid" really doesn't look good on anyone. I don't care who you are. Thank God for the football players that took the time to study and learn.

It shows the mentality of many US Americans. Remember Americans cover from Canada to the very tip of South America and everything in between.
I am a US American citizen.
In my travels abroad, I have seen US Americans act very bad. They expect everyone in the country they are visiting to bow down to them. Why? Are we really that stupid to think we are better than them?
I have lived in several other countries, and have been embarrassed to even be in the same place with their rude behavior.
Why do people visiting our country (USA) act like gracious visitors?
I love my country. I support my country. AND I respect others and their countries and cultures no matter how poor or wealthy they are. When visting other countries, I even try to speak their language. Which it appears, they appreciate.
When invited into their homes, I adjust to their customs, language, and food. I do not put their religion down, or way of living. I have eaten insects, dog, cat, horse, snake, and what ever was served to me. At least I acted like I enjoyed it even if I didn't.
Enough of my soap boxing. I feel that many people don't even know English that have graduated from a US high school. Try coming to the US, and you have been studying proper English, only to find no one here speaks it. Try Southern, Northern, Tex Mex, Ebonics, Skin Head, Slang, etc.

For those who say look who we voted into office, I am sorry to inform you that I did not vote for this clown and this man won the elections illegitimately and for some reason our Supreme court allowed him to stay in after TWO Florida miscount scandals.
Plus I am also sorry to inform you of who you guys in the UK voted for a intelligent man for PM who ended up following the man we voted in all the way to war. The question is which is worse, a unethical fool who starts wars or the fool who follows that man into such wars even through he knew the reasons for it were a lie?
Be very careful when you point fingers, for they can be pointed right back.

Naturally, lots of people think Americans are stupid; we have a C-STUDENT for "President" (note quotation marks), who was appointed the first time around, and we re-elected him the second time around,
Don't forget Dan ( Daddy's vice-President) Quayle wished he'd learned Latin so he could speak in Latin America. Yep, we're a pretty stupid bunch of self-righteous moralistic, greedy, polluting morons if you follow American Presidential politics on the Republican't side.
Bill Clinton may have lied about Monica, but at least he didn't steal either election, unlike the thieves on the other side.

Let's not tar everybody with the same brush.
But yeah, one does feel surprised at such comments. Where did he think English came from ??

Yes, that is why.
I almost feel bad for football players who get stereotyped as idiots, but then they speak.
I'm also American and I hear you.
