Hello,
I'm using a D-Link DES 1008D Switch for a couple of months, just recently I bought a Toshiba laptop which supports wireless internet connectivity. Can i have an wireless internet connection by using this switch to my Laptop. If so, please let me know how it can be done.

you would need a wireless router. you can run the switch and the wireless connection with the wireless router.

I would think if you have a wired router and a network switch you could plug in a wireless access point to either the router or the network switch and that would also allow him or her to connect to the network wirelessly as long as their laptop had either a wireless card or wireless built into it.

That way you would not necessarily need to purchase a wireless router to have wireless abilities.

You need a wireless Router or access point to connect your Laptop. If you don't have a wireless router then you can go the AP route.

You need to have a wireless router for wireless to work on your laptop

switch just plugs into a cat5 connection aka wired
