It was our monthly company lunch day today, and there was a Halloween theme:
Witches Cauldron salad with Seeds of Chuckie (ok, they were sunflower and pumpkin), baby tomatoes, dried cranberries and a variety of lettuces. The dressing was a cranberry-martini vinaigrette, made with a cranberry & juniper berry vinegar.
Caribbean Pirates’ roast pork loin, roasted on the grill outside. It was served with “Yo Ho Ho” sauce, started with a bottle of rum (Myer’s dark), reduced with allspice berries, added apple vodka and apple juice, finished with a little butter (like hot buttered rum) and thickened with a little corn starch. Just before service, it was spiked again with another touch or two of rum.
Rosemary’s Baby carrots, glazed with brown sugar and maple syrup.
Children of the Corn-bread stuffing.
Dessert was chocolate bloody cake (OK, the blood is really strawberry jam between the layers…but, use your imagination).
All in all, quite yummy!

we had a massive catered lunch at work. catfish and all the fixins. I'm a southerner.

I had veggie beef soup w/ corn muffins--it's cool & rainy here, a good soup day.

I had fusilli pasta with vodka sauce and fresh mozzarella and a lemonade.
