I mean, he let them FILM him in front of that graph claiming that CO2 causes global warming. He didn't even have the brains to HIRE someone with a brain to point out that the graph showed temperature increases PRECEEDING CO2 increases throughout history. Is he just too dumb to realize we're not that dumb?

I really can't think of a public figure who's a bigger dork. Anyone?

He may not have all the answers yet about global warming and climate change, but then no one does.

At least he has the cojones to bring his beliefs to the forefront in the hopes of bringing about a shift in the mentality of the average person.

No matter your political leaning, whether you think Bush stole the election from him, it's still a fact that idiots who drive Hummers are damaging our environment and increasing our dependence on foreign oil.

Trying to broaden the consciousness of the average American is a good thing even if he's not 100% right. Are you without fault? If so, then cast the first stone. Surely you remember where that paraphrased passage came from.

So yes, I can think of a bigger dork.

You obviously was not listening or actually looking at the graphs. The graphs showed the median world temperatures and compared them to CO2 in the atmosphere from natural causes as determined by boring samples from the polar ice caps. For hundreds of thousands of years there has been a direct correlation between the median global temperatures and the CO2 in the atmosphere. Most of the arguments that you get from the people who deny the science are pretty dumb like Al Gore is fat, says he invented the Internet, or flies around in a personal jet. These arguments may be entertaining but they don't refute the science.

Al Gore is no half-****** dupe. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1977-85, was a US Senator from 1985-93 and was Vice-president from 1993-2001 He won the popular vote in his run for the Presidency in 2000 but lost in the USSC by a 5 to 4 vote. Now tell us all again what you have accomplished in your life that makes you think you're qualified to be calling Al Gore a dupe, dork or dumb. I'm waiting......

No, he is not. The biggest dupes on the planet are those who _believe_ his bs

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is
becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.
As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

If Al Gore really got his way the Kyoto Treaty would be signed we would be riding bikes everywhere and using candle power while he's dumping millions of pounds of carbon every month from his G5.

No--Al Gore is a great man.

And you can tell by the quality of his critics. They know he is speaking the truth--they've tried to discredit what he says and can't.

So they resort to smears and mockery. That doesn't make Al Gore any less o fa person. It most assurdly does that to his critics.
