That may have been true at one time, and it is even possible that a law like that is still on the books. But it would not be enforced.
That would be a hold over form times when Sundays as a day of rest were enforced.
These day's most places have removed these law from their books. but occasionally one is left behind, but again they generally not enforced.
Kind of like the illegal immigrants. It is illegal for them to live and work in our country without the proper credential, but it is alomost never enforced.

It could be.
I doubt that there are any state laws that say that, but you might well have a local ordinance against it, and believe it or not, it may well make sense.
It's possible that the regulation has to do with time off for your local Fire Department, and wanting to reduce the likelihood of anyone needing to call them on that day.
Call the Fire Department.

In several words...possibly. This would be a matter for the county within which you live. Some small municipalities can and do choose to control such strange behavior. Perhaps what you heard was referring to fires used to burn leaves or some other activity. I would suggest you contact city hall to find out. Best of luck!

I wouldn't tink so unless you live in an area trying to reduce the smoke levels by eliminating fires one day a month. Even then, the choice of Sunday makes little sense.

You'll need to look up your county ordinances on burning.
Right now in my area there is no open burning including bar-b-que due to extreme drought conditions.
Certain times of the year require you to purchase a burn permit- which here in my area (under normal conditions) are not issued for Sundays.

I have bonfires at the beach all the time on Sunday nights. So what your friend is telling you is not true.
