Arrows?

:-)

Bullets are the pieces of lead fired by a gun.

Shells are "an explosive military projectile or bomb". Thus, shells are different from bullets.

Shapnel are little pieces of any material that fly around and embed themselves into things when there's an explosion or accident. Hand grenades are designed to produce as much shrapnel as possible.

Rounds are a term used to describe how many *somethings* can a particular gun fire before you're out of ammunition. You might talk about a 30-round magazine on a gun, meaning it can fire 30 times before you reload.

Bullet refers to the projectile that actually leaves the weapon.
Shell refers to the brass and whatever load is in it.
Shrapnel is the small metal part that is result of an explosive shell, or a hand grenade.
The American hand grenades were sometimes refered to as pineapples. German hand grenades were sometimes referred to as potato mashers.
