Well, first she is allowed to have a day off. Second-do you know if she has those papers in hand or just if they were sent out by these people to her office? And you having to move by date x is not her problem-sorry but it aint. My guess is that she may work weekends. And how, just to ask, do you know that there are spots empty and move in ready? There may be empty units in various stages of turnover for new tenants or leased up and ready for the next tenant who has already signed a lease.

You are at fault here not her. The process of getting approved for an apartment takes time. Just because she received all the documents yesterday does not mean she has an approval from her boss or the owner. Next time you have such time constraints...apply sooner.

You should wait until Monday, October 29 and talk with her. Do remember that this woman DOES have the right to take off a day from her job. It should not take her long at all to review documents on Monday and give you a response.

Yeah, I'd be ticked too. Call her first thing on Monday - you'll still have time to be out by Nov. 1 at that point. It sounds like she is indeed a flake or just swamped with applicants - if that's the case, then you're nobody special to her (sorry to say). Is there anywhere else you could look into moving if this place doesn't work out? I'd get on it today or this weekend, if possible. Time is running out and you're backed into a corner it sounds like.

Let her know immediatedly, in writing_preferably via certified mail_it is extremely important she lets you know at the receipt of this letter, if you have been qualified, since you cannot move in later than Nov. 1st. And that if you have been turned down to let you know exact reason.
Let her know that 20 days is much more than enough time, and that you have supplied her with all necessary documents.
If by any chance you are rejected due to her negligence, be ready to ask the most pertinent questions over the phone to a real estate attorney. Based on his or her advice, then you'll have your options on what to do next.

Ask to speak with her supervisor - she either has a property-manager-in-charge above her, or a broker. Stress to that person what you have stated here.
