In today's climate you are doing very well indeed to get to the interview stage, so there is obviously not much wrong with your cv, your experience and your background generally. Ask for feedback on why you didn't get offered the job. Interviewers aren't always willing to be too explicit but you could still learn something useful. You say you've had 'several' interviews (which suggests two or three) but are 'always' losing out (which suggests lots of times!). Looked at objectively, how many times have you really been in this position - lots, or does it just feel that way? You could be making yourself feel much gloomier than reality demands. You say you are earning '£10K too little for your age'. These days age alone has precious little to do with it - pay is determined much more by your ability, knowledge and experience. Are you possibly trying to make too big a jump in salary terms, leaving potential employers wondering if you'll be able to make what is probably quite a big leap in terms of responsibility? Can you do any training now, either in your current job or in your own time, that will boost your cv and give you the edge on other candidates? Have a think about your interview technique. Google' interview technique' and lots of helpful sites pop up. Finally, have you exhausted all the possibilities of improving the job you are in, both in terms of content and pay? Do your current employers know you are enthusiastic, keen to learn and progress, etc? They aren't mindreaders and the old chestnut 'They must have realised!' has been wrong so many times for so many other people... Good luck!

I did a role play once when I was training to be a nurse...my friend tried to take my temperature orally with a rectal thermometer!
I hate doing role plays, but think I would have had some fun with the furry handcuffs!lol

What kind of job might that situation happen in??

Anyway, I was interviewing for a job in a veteran's support organization and was asked, How would I react if a Vet wanted to show me his gunshot wound on his buttocks.

I told them I would tell him that it wasn't my area of specialty.

I didn't get the job.

I would have said "excuse me I'm sorry I've obviously interrupted something.
I've never had to do a role play but would be hopeless at it I think
