In September 1993, Brenda Pratt Shafer, a registered nurse with thirteen years of experience, was assigned by her nursing agency to an abortion clinic. Since Nurse Shafer considered herself "very pro-choice," she didn't think this assignment would be a problem. She was wrong. This is what Nurse Shafer saw:

"I stood at the doctor's side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby's heartbeat was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby's body and arms, everything but his little head. The baby's body was moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the baby's head, and the baby's arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall. Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby's

brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever seen."

But what about if the baby had been aborted at a younger age.. say 6 weeks? When the baby is this young, doctors use the Saline Method, where they inject a salty saline solution into the mother's womb. You would think it would just poison the baby, but it actually burns it to death. Even though the baby is so young, on ultrasounds of the abortion, the fetus is seen pulling away from the poison as it is injected.. obviously wanting to stay alive.(The baby is intelligent enough to move away from the pain..but the child can't escape it)

Think about that before you say that unborn children can't feel pain.

Life is life, no matter how small.
A baby cries for it's first and last time when it's aborted
You can deny but its true.

Now do some of you still say that abortion is not murder?

If you still say that killing a baby is ok, then you are sick.

she obviously saw the babies face after he killed the baby and he pulled the entire fetus out of the woman.
REALLY, use your brain answerer, there is no contradiction here.

Of course I am pro-choice. I am for choosing where to send my child to school, where to live, what to say - even if some find it objectionable.

And I am all for a mom choosing to give birth to her baby.

To me, pro choice means no-one has the right to force any action, or inaction, on a woman's own body, and I believe in that wholeheartedly in all aspects of life.

Where is the outcry from "pro-life" people when parents chain smoke or are morbidly obese or are ill in some other self imposed life-threatening way? There are many easily avoided causes of deaths that kill more people yearly than there are abortions. To me the death of an adult who leaves behind dependants seems even more impactful on the world than an abortion yet "pro-lifers" aren't undergoing mass health and safety campaigns. In fact, I encountered many more chain smokers attending a catholic university than during any other part of my life. Abortions could be almost entirely eradicated with adequate reproductive and birth control knowledge, yet the same religious anti-abortion activists are against comprehensive sex education, which all leads me to believe that this is generally not about life, or death, or sex, but about people wanting to push their beliefs on others in an attempt to force the rest of the world into fitting into their paradigm.

I believe a woman should be able to choose up until the second trimester. After that, abortion becomes too risky (unless, there are medical reasons that could put the mother's life in jeopardy if she goes through labor).

And if abortion is outlawed, women will resort to dangerous coat-hanger abortions. Plus, doctors will still find a way to perform an abortion around the legal system. Do you really want that to happen?

EDIT

Oh look! It's Henry Jo again! :)

Wow. Whoever gave a thumbs down would rather both a women and her fetus die of a coat-hangar abortion. I think that's disgusting....

These two statements contradict each other. Did you notice that? Besides, partial-birth abortion has been deemed illegal. Though a woman can still have an abortion during the first trimester.

I think it's beyond a travesty when people believe that they have the right to end a life. I could care less if a three-week old inside it's mother looks nothing like a living being - the fact of the matter is IT'S A HUMAN BEING, no question about it. The selfishness of those who believes it's their choice is beyond words and belief. A life is a life, regardless to if it was concieved in a loving way or was in violence, and it's not fair to for that innocent life to end. I know I will get a ton of thumbs down, but it's worth it - maybe someone will rethink murder in the future.

And has said nurse also tried to aide a woman dying horribly after a black market abortion? Making it illegal would not stop it, only kill women who feel like they have no other choice but go to unqualified people for help.

If you don't believe in abortion, don't have one.

I am a lesbian, so this is not an issue that I really see happening in my life.. I do not believe in people using it as birth control.. after the first "accident" they should learn to prevent it.. and after a few.. they should get counseling. But, outlawing it is dangerous on so many levels.

I am 100000000% pro life. I had early ultrasounds with both of my pregnancies, and saw my sons' hearts beating at 5.5 and 6 weeks, respectively. I don't understand how people can use the argument that "it's just a blob of tissue." Yes, it may not look like a baby, but it has the dna of a baby and, if given a chance at life, will continue to grow and become "human." Abortion, the doctors who perform it, and the women who have them DISGUST ME.
