You can try airing them out in a cool dry room. Once the
musty smell is absorbed by a book it is there to stay. Airing can only make the smell less noticable.

I really don't think you can, but being out say on a shelf, in time the smell gets less, but never really goes away. I have some very old coin books and have had them for years and they still smell old. You can try a library, a large one say at a college.
