I am aware that we really do not have the ability to perceive other dimensions and therefore our brain is not evolved & cannot conceive this. Maybe one of us though can?
By universe I mean not only the earth.
There have been other similar answers if this helps you to look for them and then tell me what you think.

******There is a better wording for this question translated from the greek word βαινω pron.: veno, which means go on proceed.
So, The question should have been :

Do you think the Universe is proceeding, going on, as it should?
thank you for so thoughtful answers. Bravo! thanks Gl. Gy. too.

Not sure the question but I will answer based upon my interpretation and assuming it is only our universe of earth.

This part of the universe is really going south. We have developed or improved the basic theory of what is good for me. There are so many different groups of people that are only interested in the effect on the group. That includes nations that want everyone to conform to their rules. (Mr Cheney - does that sound familiar). There are religions that have lost the concept that they were founded and only care about control over their group and changing the minds over every one else. There is much more selfishness in the world which shows in the about of goods people require, the use of the assets of the world including fuels, the increase in the temperature caused by the more educated countries.

A very deep question, and one I'm not sure I can answer with the sort of depth that I feel it deserves.

Universe is a broad and fairly non-definitive term in this context, because the physical universe and man's universe are very different I feel.

Our universe is unfolding more or less the way it should in my opinion. I mean, things could be going better, but consider where we came from - protean cells in a shoreless ocean - and consider that humanity has infinite potential at this stage, and it makes the next thousand years of our planet among the most interesting that has ever been.

The physical universe is expanding and we know so little of it at this stage in our species development. I am no scientist, but what lies beyond our atmosphere, our earth and our cosmos just awes and fascinates me. If humanity as a race has infinite potential, then just imagine how many other worlds out there may have equal or differing potentials to match our own.

I would just love to be bought back to life three or four thousand years down the road and see the future of the human race and the universe as a whole.

How different will things be? I wonder what the answer to your question would be then.

The question you ask is tricky. When you mention "unfolding as it should" you are automatically assuming that that there are other ways of unfolding, and that there is one particular way, or some big scheme which it should follow. I don't think there is any way in particular it "should" be unfolding, or at the very least it's not something we can really know. Unless you invoke the "mind of God" or something of that sort.

The better question might be "Why is the universe unfolding the way it is?" which we have some good ideas and evidence about. However ultimately the natural laws that are discovered are in themselves somewhat of a mystery.

The best answer might just be "we don't really know".

If you want to go by the definition, that the universe is the totality of known or supposed objects and phenomena throughout space, and if by "known" we mean human stored knowledge, the rate of information expansion currently taking place might be of interest.

Right now it is taking place at a phenomenal rate. The expansion is now being measured in exabytes, that is 10 to the 18th power bytes or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes.

Is that as it should be? No one human being can digest this much information; however, as requested, no religious answer will be given here as to what should or should not be the measure of all things.

I hope this answer has been interesting, even if it might not have "universal" appeal.

The use of the word "unfolding" shows that you are asking a metaphysical question.
But the answer is same metaphysically or scientifically: the universe does what the universe does and WHATEVER happens to the existence of existence can only happen "as it should." Existence has no choice but to procede by the laws of physics.

Yes i think there is '' momentum '' in the way the universe is unfolding that leads to a predetermined ,ultimate conclusion.
I also believe that on the way to that ultimate conclusion all decision making forms of life can choose different paths along the way that help or hinder(the speed of this ''unfolding'') for themselves as well as the universe as a whole.

"As it should" implies a little pre-ordained thinking. The universe is expanding as evidenced by the all the galaxies accelerating away from us (except the Andromeda Galaxy which is on a collision course with our own Milky Way). All the observations point to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics in action (AKA: entropy). To suggest that these observations are what it 'should' be does not make common sense....but that's just me.

No doubt. How could it be unfolding as it shouldn't?

Mark well how the stanza continues though. This is not talking 'only' of the cosmic universe, but also of the universe, the totality, of each individual being inside of that cosmic universe: "........therefore be at peace..." meaning, as I see, that there should be no complaints about 'our lot', that acceptance of 'Reality as It is'' is necessary to feel that 'you have a right to be here'.

ok nicely you requested what reason you may desire to have confidence in God for and that i'm gonna answer it. i'm a christian and that i've got doubts approximately God alot however the flaws that generally make me have confidence returned is while i think of with reference to the devil by using fact there are data of excorcisms. yet another component i think of of is that evolution has not greater data then christianity does(thats not a slam on your religin it quite is largely a element im attempting to make when you consider which you like solutions).i be attentive to you stated the bible won't replace something for you yet once you ever make an effort to study it or something you will see that the thoughts in it are so inventive that i could not quite think of a dude in basic terms asserting im going to place in scripting this e book and trick all and sundry. that's an rather long and complicated e book and that i think that that's real. In my faith it says which you may desire to unfold the observe to those who don't think. You stated you have been raised catholic and maximum christians say that catholic faith has fake issues to it by using fact in christianity you basically worship God and Jesus Christ nicely in the catholic faith you besides mght worship Mary and mary isn't holy. i be attentive to that the bible can look a great way fetched at circumstances yet evolution is in basic terms too. i in my opinion wish you make an effort to study the bible whether you do not have confidence in it by using fact in case you a minimum of supply it a attempt what could desire to it harm. i'm telling you that earthly life is very short and that i think of which you may desire to be attentive to that the outcomes for not devoting your life to God are very painful and you burn in hearth on my own for eternity. What are you able to lose in case you attempt and supply christianity i shot i implore you to start examining the bible.

If it is, in fact, unfolding, it can unfold in no other way. From what I can see, there isn't any 'unfolding' going on any more than I am unfolding. It is just 'being' and we are projecting the idea of movement onto it because it's how we've learned to view it.
