Should there be a "Statute of Limitations" on illegal immigrants? If someone came here illegally in 1985, has been working here the whole time, NOW we tell them that "Wait, you have to leave now"? Keep in mind that many other "crimes" committed in 1985 would not be prosecuted, just because too much time has passed.
Your Thoughts please,
And Thank You, As Always.

If they're here illegally, can you prove that they've been here since 1985? Seriously, this is a real dilemma for this country and I'd like to see it resolved, somehow.
For those who are honest, work, and are above board, give them a green card and allow them to become tax payers so that they can pay back the system that supports them.
In the meanwhile, we need to go after employers who are hiring illegals and place a stop to the thousands more who continue crossing our borders on a daily bases.

The problem is that if they immigrated illegally, and then stayed here working illegally, the crimes went on. It could be said that that they committed crimes repeatedly for twenty-two years. A statute of limitations applies only to a one-time event with intervening innocence.

NO! This is why, In the recent news, immigration authorities are in the process of deporting a illegal Mexican immigrant that has been living in the states for 15 years. What's sad is, he hasn't even accustomed himself to the American life. They interviewed him on the news, and the guy can't even speak English after 15 years of living here. There are many people protesting over his deportation but I say deport him because it's obvious he doesn't even want to be American or make any effort to become a citizen.

I think that we should focus more on securing our borders than rounding up the illegal immigrants that are already here. As long as they aren't causing trouble I wouldn't waste resources on them but as soon as they pop up on the radar, i.e. commit some sort of crime, I would ship them out as soon as they got out of jail.

No statutes. Did you hear that the FBI found a prison escapee that was on the run for 28 years? I guarantee he's getting dealt with right now.

No... a crime is a crime... if someone killed your mom in 1985 should it be forgotten about if they can outsmart the police for 15 years?

Absolutely. That's how it's handled in Wyoming then you're
qualified as "valuable member of the society", something
about which many people here at YA clearly leave doubts.

Illegal is illegal, they should all be deported. And I'm not just talking about Mexicans, I mean all the Europeans too.
