When I was 18 I needed a non-life threatning surgery. I had no insurance and no money. I went to the county hospital and got the proceedure. Problem solved.

So how is it that Liberals say the poor have no access to healthcare?

The myth is that the "poor" have no access to health care. We know this is a myth because it is against the law to turn someone away in the emergency room. We also know that there is medicare and medicaid for the poor. What the liberals would like you to believe based on this myth is that the middle class poor have no health care. You know the Middle Class poor when you see them. They are the ones that drive a SUV, eat pizza once a week, McDonald's, Arby's, etc. They have Internet, big screen TV, a four wheeler, cell phone, and their house is in foreclosure. You can't miss them, because they are the ones whining about the government not taking care of them because they live outside their means. I have a factory full of them. Look at my parking lot at the cars and trucks they drive, and I drive a 95 GM pick up. By the way, my employees have a health care plan, that is very good and comprehensive, to include dental and vision. I have 23% on the program, the rest have declined, why, because they are young, strong and healthy and figure they don't need the coverage. I also have a 401k program that we match to 8% and you are automatically vested, ( anybody got one better than that let me know) and I have have less than 10% involved. I have pleaded with them to get on it, and yet they decline. There are many that "chose" to be poor because they make bad choices, instead of thinking about their future, they are thinking about what feels good right now...

A Liberal who says that the poor can't get health care, is full of blarney, brain-washed, and confused. Any hospital will care for a sick person without money. You will be billed by them, but there are no requirements as to a minimal fee to pay per bill. That is if you give them a correct address to pay your bill. Many an illegal don't, but still get free care from our hospitals, never having paid a dime towards the care received. Some Americans have done this, too. It is against the law for any American Hospital to turn down health-care to a person who is ill.

Jeff, how many times do you have to be told that all the hospitals do NOT write off all this surgery and medical care for those without insurance?

They recoup their losses, buddy...in the form of higher medical costs for all of us.

All working Americans are already footing the bill for the uninsured, so to put a slight twist on your question, you're paying for everyone else's health care already whether you realize it or not.

True, my mom had me in county and it cost her nothing. When my first child was born, I had to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars just to have her admitted and released. I have insurance but they didn't want to pay because they thought that I had coverage with someone else. That was a fun ordeal. Poor people can have the care they want, most of the time they get it as it is needed but there are those with the loud mouths that do nothing when ill and blame the insurance companies and Conservatives.

Because they are rich and possibly don't relies how the poor struggle or will struggle to pay for Heath care. I think poor families should protest.

Here's a thought...you continue to stand on your platform of denying healthcare to children while spending billions in Iraq. I will stand on my platform of ending the war and helping Americans in need, and we can let the American people decide. I'm pretty confident in my platform.

I can pretty much guarantee you that if you tried that today, you'd be waiting a long time for that procedure, if you ever did get it. Thanks to the insurance companies having gained control over the healthcare industry, things are a lot different today than they used to be.
