Uhh... Habeas Corpus had been around since 1215. Thats a solid 550 years before our country. I'd say it was a drastic change to get rid of it.
As for the clown that praised FDR. If it weren't for his socialist implementations like social security, we'd still have the initiative as a people because we wouldn't be tracked by our social security number (which was promised to never be used as ID because the voters of the day considered a violation of their privacy!)

That is the problem. Everybody VOTES when a Presidential election comes around but the writing is already on the wall by then. Everyone needs to vote in their community elections, state elections and so on...... Your State Reps. and Senators play a bigger part in your lives than the president does. Those are the ones that need to be de-encumbered. If you can choose the right middle people who reflect your wishes and values then it gets to the President if a ruling is needed. People need to understand that the Presidents hands are tied without being able to work with Congress. Look at it now! The Congress is smiling all the way to the bank because they got the majority back. But has it helped US or hurt US! Power hungry mongrels need to be outed starting at the bottom.

This is a loaded question because you are automatically assuming that all presidents have not changed anything. But how can you make such a general comment? The last 100 years? What about Roosevelt's declaration to send U.S. troops to War World II, Lydon B. Johnson's decision to send 1,000's of troops to Vietnam? What about the 30,000 men and women appointed to positions within the government at the beginning of every administration? Or about the appointment of Supreme court justices who make landmark decisions such as roe vs. wade, Brown vs. the Topeka Board of education! How can you possibly feel that electing a president is a waste of time? It's really sad how you don't appreciate this right! There are people who have died and are dying for the right to participate in the electoral process in their country!

There are Presidents who have REALLY changed things, both for the better (like FDR) and for the worse (like the current assh*le). While another social champion like FDR may not be running for president anytime soon, it's still our responsibility to try as hard as we can to keep the assh*les out of office...

Because most vote for flip-floppers.
Vote Ron Paul, he is the only consistent choice. Regardless of if you accept all his view points, consistency itself will make better progress than what we do have (or have had).

I think we need the general public to be leaders and not followers. I refuse to be a sheep and worship a politician. I know what's best for my life, not them.
Ron Paul, please return my freedom to me!!
